These terms govern your use of cutthenoise.com and the Cut The Noise email newsletter, operated by BaseLocal, LLC (“Cut The Noise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the website or subscribing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or subscribe.

The service

Cut The Noise is a free daily email news briefing, and a website that shows its editions. It is paid for by affiliate offers and sponsored content, described in our advertiser disclosure.

Information, not advice

Cut The Noise reports the news, including news about money, health and the law. It is general information. It is not financial, investment, legal, tax or medical advice. Talk to a qualified professional before you act on anything you read.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 to use our services. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian agrees.

Your subscription

To subscribe, you give us a valid email address that you control. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of any edition, or by emailing hello@baselocal.com.

Affiliate links and sponsored content

Our website and newsletter carry affiliate links and sponsored content. On the website they are labeled “Sponsored”; in the newsletter they end with an asterisk (*). If you buy through an affiliate link, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.

We do not guarantee the quality, safety or suitability of any product or service a sponsor offers. Do your own research before you buy. Other websites we link to have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. Your dealings with a sponsor are between you and the sponsor.

Acceptable use

You may read and share individual editions for personal, non-commercial use. Anything else needs our written permission.

We work to get every fact right and publish corrections, but we do not guarantee that our content is complete, accurate or current, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, BaseLocal, LLC and its officers, directors, employees and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the website or the newsletter. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Our services are free, so that amount is zero.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BaseLocal, LLC and its officers, directors, employees and agents from claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising from your use of our services or your breach of these terms.

Termination

You may stop using our services at any time by unsubscribing and not visiting the website. We may suspend or end your access at any time, including if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms.

Changes, severability and entire agreement

We may change these terms. Changes appear on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and using our services after a change means you accept it. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These terms and our privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and us about our services.
